Abstinence-Only Education and Advantage Discrimination The following is an interesting write-up by Advantage Discrimination Rationale: We are sometimes questioned as to why we put our abstinence message
in the context of marriage. The real question is: Why wouldn't you put any discussion of sexual intimacy in the
context of marriage if you are committed to giving young people the best advantage for health and well being? The
overwhelming evidence indicates that when sexual activity takes place only in the context of marriage, the societal
health outcomes are overwhelmingly positive for parents and children. Some of these outcomes include reduced poverty
rates, higher academic achievement, lower crime and incarceration rates, and greater social support structures
to name a few. |
